WHERE IS YOUR HEART TODAY? You are my son today I have begotten you.”

“WHERE IS YOUR HEART TODAY” is God’s question today.
Author’s cry:
Have you hidden your face from me?
Has bitterness robbed me?
Let me be the scum of the earth but let me never loose You.

  • And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. Psalms 30:6
  • Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. Psalms 30:7

Scripture 2:

  • 16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. Psalms 51:16
  • 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalms 51:17

Scripture 3:

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Psalm 2:7

  • 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Psalms 51:11

A BROKEN SPIRIT

A broken spirit and a contrite heart
You will not despise, You will not despise
You desire truth in the inward parts
A broken spirit and a contrite heart

Lord, my heart is prone to wander
Prone to leave, the God I love
Here’s my heart, Lord take and seal it
Seal it for, Your courts above

SHEPHERD OF MY SOUL

Shepherd of my soul I give You full control
Wherever You may lead I will follow
I have made the choice to listen for Your voice
Wherever You may lead I will go
Shepherd of my soul I give You full control
Wherever You may lead I will follow
I have made the choice to listen for Your voice
Wherever You may lead I will go

Be it in a quiet pasture or by a gentle breeze
The shepherd of my soul is by my side
Should I face a mighty mountain or a valley dark and deep
The shepherd of my soul will be my guide

Scripture 1

27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:17

Scripture 2

11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. Hebrews 8:10,11

  • because God abides in man and man in God

7. God’s New Covenant of Love

We Cannot Approach A Big God With A Small Mind. 19/7/117

Definition: My Mind: The components in a man’s internal self that could either hinder or facilitate him gel / unite with God’s will through Jesus Christ.

Key Words:

a) Wisdom of this world. Wisdom that is bound and contained in the world paradigm that limits man from seeing God / God’s truth / God’s mysteries

b) Man’s wisdom. Man’s mind that governs man’s heart and man’s life and everything that is common / natural to man, which blocks / prevent man from accessing God / God’s wisdom.

c) Natural man. The nature of a man that is governed by self whose seat is sin which keeps man in this natural realm / plane from accessing God / God’s truth / realities.

d) Spiritual man. The nature of a man that has been liberated from his naturalness / natural mind to releases him to access God’s spirit by being baptised by God’s spirit through Jesus Christ.

e) Man’s naked mind / Man’s Mind / Carnal Mind. The naturalness of man that is governed by his mind / seat of sin and keeps him in his naturalness

God’s Mind On Man

  • 1. The wisdom of this world sums up to nothing
    • However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 1 Corinthians 2:6
  • 2. The wisdom of this world is foolishness
    • which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:8
  • 3. The wisdom of this world blind man from seeing God’s truth
    • which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory1 Corinthians 2:8
  • 4. The wisdom of God surpasses the wisdom of this world
    • But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 1 Corinthians 2:7
  • 5. Limitation of man’s wisdom – The magnanimity of God’s blessing that man cannot conceive through man’s mind
    • But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man – The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
  • 6. God’s Spirit opens up man’s mind to see God’s truth / secret
    • 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10
    • 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12
    • 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
  • 7. Man’s naked mind cannot decipher God’s truth
    • 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:11
  • 8. The natural man cannot access God’s Spirit
    • 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14
  • 9. The spiritual man can access / has the password to decipher God’s Spirit
    • 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 1 Corinthians 2:15
  • 10. The gift of God is to have the mind of God / Spirit
    • 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16
  • 11. Limitation of man’s mind versus the mind of man that trusts / depends on God
    • The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 (NASB)
  • 12. God’s mind towards man
    • God is mindful of man. The way God sees man that surpasses the man sees himself
    • God exalted man to the position of a man to the place of a ruler
    • God exalted man to have dominion / control / to rule over the earth
    • When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, Psalms 8:3
    • What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him? Psalms 8:4
    • For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor. Psalms 8:5
    • You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, Psalms 8:6
    • All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field, Psalms 8:7
    • The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea – That pass through the paths of the seas. Psalms 8:8
  • 13. The mind of man that trusts in God against his trust on man and man’s strength
    • Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalms 20:7

MP3.001

Definition: My Freedom: The position God has given me through Jesus Christ. (July 17, 2017)

1. New position ordained by Jesus Christ

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (NKJV) Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (NIV) Galatians 5:1

  • liberty

Old position the original nature of sin of man:

  • bondage
  • yoke of slavery

2. Governed by faith through Jesus Christ not law

Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. Galatians 5:2-6

  • natural living governed by law: 2 types of law: circumcision and non circumcision. Galatians 5:6
  • spiritual living governed by faith
    • live through Christ by faith Galatians 5:6

Challenge to man:

  • not to depend on the law but to depend on grace through Jesus Christ . Galatians 5:1
  • if circumcised then he becomes a debtor to the law. Galatians 5:3
  • If we depend on law are fallen / estranged from grace. Galatians 5:4
  • our modus operandi / way of living is to live by righteousness by faith Galatians 5:5

3. Governed by faith working through love through Jesus Christ

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. Galatians 5:6

  • walk of faith
  • walk through love
  • wrought / made possible by / though Jesus Christ

4. Governed by love the fulfilment of the Law

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one wordeven in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! Galatians 5:14,15

5. The downside of freedom

13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

  • freedom as understood by sinful man – opportunity to sin

MY DESIRE – Identity Series: Who Am I?

A. Man’s Desire of Himself

1. Selfish living

A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire;
He rages against all wise judgment. Proverbs 18:1

  • defying wisdom of man
  • due to selfishness

2. Temptation of man – Overcome by his sinful passion

  • 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. James 1:13
  • 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. James 1:14
  • 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:15

The process of conception of sin:

  • ‘Conception Stage’
    • he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed by sin
    • desires that takes him over
  • ‘Action Stage’ overpowers / overcomes him to ‘act’

3. Defilement a man

  • 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. Matthew 15:19
  • 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.” Matthew 15:20

What makes a man unclean:

  • roots of sin that births from his heart & results in action
  • not things that goes in but but comes out and births sin

4. Lust of the world

  • 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
  • 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:16
  • 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17

B. God’s Desire for Man

1. For all man to be saved

  • God’s nature of long suffering

Scripture 1:

  • For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1 Timothy 2:3
  • who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4

Scripture 2:

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

2. For all man to know God’s hope

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[a]being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Himat His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Ephesians 1:15-23

  • the hope of His calling
  • the glory of His inheritance in the saints
  • the exceeding greatness of God’s power to those who believe in Him

Key Summary:

1. Desires are real

2. Crucify the desires of flesh: And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24

3. Baptise the desire to be filled with God’s desires

4. Desires that leads us downwards are Real but God has made a way

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God isfaithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

A. LIVING ACCORDING TO MAN’S WILL

1. Man’s Will Apart from God’s Will

  • 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. James 4:13
  • 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:15
  • 17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17

Meaning:

  • Man’s Will
    • Selfish living
    • Selfish boasting
  • Accurate way – to subject man’s will to God’s will

2. Denial of Man’s Will To Do God’s Will

  • 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. Luke 9:23
  • 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. Luke 9:24
  • 25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? Luke 9:25

Meaning:

  • Paradox to living that is apart from self – “save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it”
  • The wrong approach to life – to gain the world but loosing one’s soul

3. Self Seeking Against Seeking God’s Will – Prioritising God’s Will Being The Antidote To Life’s Worries & Agonies

  • 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Matthew 6:32
  • 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33

Meaning:

  • Man prioritises seeking all that makes up life
  • This is what the world seeks
  • Which is the wrong approach to life
  • But when we seek God’s will, we have all things

4. Man’s Will Is To Live In Sin

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Hebrews 10:26

  • to sin wilfully – willingly
  • to enslave one-selves with pleasures of flesh

B. HOW JESUS LIVED?

1. Jesus Came To Do / Fulfil His Father’s Will

38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:38

2. Jesus Came To Save Mankind

10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

3. Jesus Came To Serve

28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28

4. Jesus Came To Give Abundant Life

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

SUMMARY

1. Live life selflessly. Remove ‘self’ from the equation

2. Live with eternity in view is the accurate way to live

3. Live to gain God by loosing self

4. Live with the knowledge of God’s supremacy of one’s life

5. Live in higher ways of righteousness

Man’s nett-worth:

  • wrong definition: cumulation of all that he owns.
  • wrong definition: cumulation of how much of God that he owns

Summary:

1. The detrimental role of greediness / covetousness and possession

2. The wrong priorities of life to build oneself apart from God

3. The crisis of worry and life

4. The paradox of life / love God love others / The crisis of love and life / can’t love God if we can’t love others

WHAT JESUS SAYS ON ACCURATE LIVING

1. The detrimental role of greediness / covetousness and possession

  • (The Parable of the Rich Fool Luke 12:13-21)
  • And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” Luke 12:15

2. The wrong priorities of life to build oneself apart from God

  • (The Parable of the Rich Fool Luke 12:13-21)
  • “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:15

3. The crisis of worry and life

  • 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
  • 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
  • 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:25,26,33

Man’s worry

  • food –  what you will eat or what you will drink;
  • clothes – nor about your body, what you will put on.

Antidote to man’s worry

  • seek God
  • seek God’s righteousness

4. The paradox of life / love God love others / The crisis of love and life / can’t love God if we can’t love others

Scripture 1

  • (The Parable of the Rich Fool)
  • 17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
  • 21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” Luke 12:17,21
 Scripture 2
  • (The Parable of the Good Samaritan)
  • 27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ Luke 10:27

 Scripture 3

  • (The Fruitful Grain of Wheat)
  • 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
  • 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:24,25
  • we can’t love God if we can’t love others

CONCLUSION: RIGHT PERSPECTIVE TO LIVING

SUMMARY: Right perspective to life / living accurately:

1. Love God, Love Other People

2. Loose self life to gain God-life

3. Live to get God, then you get everything else in life

4. Right / accurate priorities to material / money

5. Life free from worry when we worry on basic necessities of life

A. MAN’S SELFISH WAYS

1. Man plans are selfish and devoid of God

  • To build a name in the world
  • To build a name in the heaven
  • Man’s selfishness marks the magnification of self

Tower of Babel: 1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lordconfused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. Genesis 11:1-9

2. Man’s selfish ways is the pathway that leads to failure

Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

3. Man’s pride s is the pathway of failure

12 There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12

4. Man’s selfish ways is fuelled by convenience

  • Man chooses easy way in life
  • Man chooses ways of the masses

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13-14

5. Man’s selfish ways is led by delusion / dream

16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided? Luke 12:16-20

B. GOD-LED WAYS

1. God leads if He is allowed

A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9

2. God-led ways are wiser

  • 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Corinthians 1:20
  • 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25

3. God-led ways stands / established

There are many plans in a man’s heart,
Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

4. Understand God’s plans / God’s ways / God’s destiny (In Conclusion)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you. Proverbs 23:7
