Keys to Enter God’s Highway
1. Hunger and thirst for God and God’s reality
- (i) David longed for God
- 1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? Psalms 42:1,2
- 1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
- (ii) David literally cried to seek for God
- My tears have been my food day and night,
While they continually say to me,
“Where is your God?” Psalms 42:3

- (iii) David thought about God / looked back
- 4 When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul within me.
For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Psalms 42:4

- (iv) David spoke to his soul
- Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance. Psalms 42:5
- Why are you cast down, O my soul?
- (v) David worshipped / confessed / prayed to God
- I will say to God my Rock,
“Why have You forgotten me?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” Psalms 42:9

2. Be in a place of poverty of the spirit / of want
- Being poor in the spirit is the access to God / God’s throne
- “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 - Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God. Matthew 5:8
- “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
- Being poor in the spirit is the access to become rich on the earth
- Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5
- Blessed are the meek,
3. Primary objective in life is to seek God
- The reality of man’s life is to worry
- “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ Matthew 6:31
- But God says this is how the world lives not the way God’s children should live
- For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things Matthew 6:32
- But our focus must be to seek God
- But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
- Live without worry
- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34
